City of Arlington is Hiring a Case Manager Near Arlington, TX

Summary:
Under the direction of the presiding judge and the day-to-day supervision of the community court grant administrator, the case manager will conduct risk/need assessments with community court participants and make recommendations to the community court judge overseeing participants’ cases. The case manager will work with third party researchers to randomize and submit data, as well as assist with compiling and submitting grant documentation. The case manager will work with community court participants and service providers to screen participants for community court and assist them with navigating the process to successful completion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Speaks with Community Court participants to ascertain areas of risk related to potential re-offense (e.g., lack of education, social support, etc.) Also determines areas of need for community court participants (e.g., housing, employment.)
  • Provides recommendations to the community court judge with regards to which community services (e.g., training services, community service, etc.) would be most appropriate for individual community court participants.
  • Meets with community service providers and advisory board members to gather community feedback regarding needs in the community, common criminal complaints, etc.
  • Assists the community court grant administrator in implementing that feedback into the community court program.
  • Meets with stakeholders to coordinate presentations and publicizes presentations to the public.
  • Assists with assimilating information for federal reporting.
  • Assists in preparing FSRs and other documents for federal reporting. Reviews paperwork to determine community court eligibility

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares and delivers presentations to large and small groups about the Community Court. Represents the Arlington Community Court meetings such as the monthly homeless group coalition meetings, seminars, and Arlington events like Trunk-or-Treat, National Night Out, etc.
  • Assists researchers in data compilation and randomization to measure demographic trends for community court participants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Skills in utilizing a variety of office equipment including, but not limited to PC, fax machine, copier, and scanner.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level or higher.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and respond to problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to self-manage and to manage project timelines.
  • Ability to provide administrative support to the Grant Administrator by researching and preparing professional level reports, correspondence, presentations, and special projects.
  • Ability to perform data entry, sort, and file.
  • Ability to analyze, reason, and evaluate individual’s circumstances to arrive at conclusions.
  • Ability to develop and implement informational programs to promote public awareness of the Community Court Program.
  • Ability to create novel solutions for participants with logistical issues to successfully complete their court orders.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Skills in interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to make public appearances and assist with marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to organize information, analyze data, initiate, and follow-through on projects.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to maintain and track data.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize job duties.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks in an expedition manner.
  • Knowledge of court procedures.
  • Ability to use good judgment and resolve problems without assistance.


Qualifying Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or social work or equivalent court experience is required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Experience with InCode or similar court management system.
  • Experience with Just Grants or similar grant management system.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.


Preferred Education and Experience:

Grant management experience and/or court experience is preferred.
